Facade Drawings Support Déclaration Préalable

A set of drawings to support a déclaration préalable (planning application) for the modest upgrade of a detached house on the outskirts of Toulouse, France. The 40-year-old property, set within a generous plot, is being incrementally adapted by its owners, who elected to self-submit the planning application with professional drawing support.

The commission focused on the production of clear, compliant plans and facade drawings to illustrate the addition of new glazing to the home’s two principal elevations. Rather than altering the overall form of the building, the proposal concentrates on enlarging and introducing openings to improve daylight, garden views and the connection between interior living spaces and the surrounding landscape.

Existing plans were carefully surveyed and redrawn to establish an accurate baseline condition, forming the basis for comparative proposed drawings. The facade illustrations emphasise the rhythm and proportion of the new glazing within the established envelope, demonstrating that the amendments sit comfortably within the scale and character of the original house.

By translating the clients’ intentions into a concise and legible drawing package, the project streamlines the déclaration préalable process while ensuring architectural clarity.
